"When unlimited and unrestricted by individual rights, a government is man's deadliest enemy. It is not as protection against 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦 actions, but against governmental actions that the Bill of Rights was written."
~ Ayn Rand from her essay ‘Man’s Rights’

Even CNN Calls Out Hollywood’s Ceasefire Hypocrites

When you’ve lost CNN…

Hollywood celebrities spent the last two years mostly ignoring the hostages held by the terrorist group Hamas.

Major awards shows came and went, and if the Middle East came up at all, it involved various iterations of “Free Palestine!”

Actor/comedian Michael Rapaport skewered this moral quicksand with a devastating 2024 Oscar parody.

At the same time, stars used every platform possible to attack Israel, dub retaliatory strikes against Hamas “genocide,” and even boycott Israeli-aligned groups.

Now, after a fragile peace deal struck by President Donald Trump has cooled the cultural temperature, most of the same stars have been shockingly silent on the matter.

How silent? Even far-Left CNN noticed Hollywood’s ceasefire hypocrites.

A pulls-no-punches story on the channel’s web site explores why an industry that roared against Israel’s actions following the Oct. 7 attacks which killed 1,200 people and took roughly 250 more hostage, turned down the volume.

To do so, it leads with “Nobody Wants This” creator Erin Foster’s damning Instagram comments.

“I’m not sure why everyone is being so utterly quiet today, but there is a deal in place that will finally bring peace to Palestinians. Why are you not celebrating it?”

Debra Messing couldn’t hold back her anger toward the “ceasefire now” movement, presumably within Hollywood and beyond, via Instagram.

“After 2 years of screaming ‘Ceasefire Now!!’ It is clear that was never the issue. It was eradicating Israel … the silence of the ‘Free Palestine’ movement is sickening…Your silence makes it unavoidably obvious that it’s only about terrorizing Jews.”

It’s the kind of story most news outlets could and should cover. It’s also something you won’t find at Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter or Variety. Those far-Left sites routinely cover for Tinsel Town if select stories shame the industry.

Said shaming usually has a political component.

Several of the pro-Palestinian actors appeared at this weekend’s No Kings protests, including John Cusack and Mark Ruffalo. The pair may be among the most outspoken actors on the issues in play. Neither applauded President Trump for his actions.

Instead, they spoke as if nothing noteworthy had happened in recent days.

“Everyone knows the score, right? The authoritarians divide and conquer, and they create an ‘other,’ and then they pick on it, pick on the person, harass them, jail them, and that’s all used as a direction so they can steal as much as they can [and] maintain power,” Cusack said. “We all know history. So, that’s what he’s doing, and we have masked goons roaming the streets, hiding their faces, abducting people.”

Ruffalo at least acknowledged the Trump-led peace deal in recent days but hardly praised Trump or brought up how Hamas terrorists were now executing fellow citizens.

It’s not just Hollywood stars who have gone silent, as “The Middle” alum Patricia Heaton pointed out on X.

Rapaport was one of President Trump’s loudest critics. Now, he says he can’t bring himself to mock the man after all he has done for Israel.

Something similar applies to Messing, another staunch Trump critic who fiercely defends Israel and, like Rapaport, has extended grace to him for his actions.

I absolutely am grateful to @POTUS. It never would have happened but for him. This POTUS is the greatest friend to Israel of any US POTUS.
